Happy 80th Birthday GrandPa!

Here is a little video just for you. Notice my usual silliness with a tad of a mocking tone...
But hey, I actually sang for you and THAT, is a special treat.
Enjoy!

October

What to do on a week off?

Maman knows...
Usually she cooks to fill in the freezer:
Cooking started at 8:00am... Five different meals going on at the same time.
And 3 hours later... tada! Nearly all done...
Wait? Who is going to do the cleaning now? Anybody? Anybody?... Nobody.
What about  drying the dishes? Huh? Hey Papa actually came to do it!
And there it is: part of the 18 meals ready to go into the freezer...
... and the kitchen is back to normal.

For me, it was time to have fun too. So back to Circuit Bouldering with my friend L I went.
So much fun!

But I also wanted to spend time in the kitchen, like Maman. "I want to cook a dinner." I said. And soon enough I had a menu in mind and to work I went:

Dessert: Brownie bites with walnuts

Main dish: Grilled Pork chops and Roasted purple and Red Potatoes
 Side dish: Sauteed wild mushrooms

Of course, most important job = licking the batter from the pan...
Appetizer: Blue cheese and pomegranate on crackers

And to end the week, we finally went to see Lily and Tina. We had fun playing and my little sis sure has a lot of energy and she is quite a kamikaze!

And of course, during the break, I read... a lot ( me with my Mohawk!). Including this 500 page book from Rick Riordan. I loved the whole Percy Jackson serie.

A September goodbye...

September came around with still a beautiful weather here in Oregon...

But it was also a month full of heavy hearts, sadness and also celebration.
My Papi from France passed away. I did not know him a lot but I was sad because Maman was sad.
He left very fast; he was dancing at his grand daughter's wedding exactly two months before and it is a good memory to have, to know that he had this last party with his 3 kids around and some of his grand kids.

Papi, we will miss you.
Papi, we will remember you through our different memories of you and through the images of you.
Maman says that she hopes that I will become an adult as nice and as respectful as Papi.

8 years old

Yes, I am 8... and have been for nearly 3 months but we seem to have lost track of time here!

So who am I at 8? Let's try that in words...
  • SILLY
  • FUNNY
  • FRIENDLY
  • WEIRD
  • LOVING
  • ANNOYING
  • HUGGER
  • BOOK LOVER
  • LEGO MASTER
  • FART MAKER/COLLECTOR
  • JOKESTER
  • ENTERTAINER
  • SCREAMER
  • HAIR SPLITTER
  • NON STOP TALKER
  • CREATIVE TALKER
  • GOOD SLEEPER
  • FOOD LOVER
  • HOMEWORK HATER
  • SCREEN TIME L-O-V-E-R!
  • RELUCTANT SCHOOL WORKER
  • CALVIN & HOBBES and GARFIELD IMPERSONATOR
  • LIFE LOVER
Pretty cool, huh? Apparently being around me is tiring. Every body agrees that I am a pretty cool dude but, oh, boy, do they all shake their head when they try to put words under behavior.
My new 3rd grade teacher was ready to start on some meds to be able to handle me. But the Ps decided to have a family meeting about that and this week, she said I was the Dream Student. Yeah for me!

My main passion would be screens, especially the ones where I can play and create. But since this is just a tiny small portion of my days, reading remains the big deal.
This past week, I was late getting into the car and Maman was starting to get mad but, here is what I said that did not seem to sooth her spirit: "But Mom, it's not my fault, I got caught by a book and it would not let me go." ( Mais Maman, c'est pas d'ma faute: j'ai été attrapé par un livre et il voulait pas me laisser partir!")

So, to celebrate being 8, here are pictures of me reading in various places over the past 3 months:

In the first train taking us to Brittany.
Waiting for the 2nd train to Brittany

At church during the wedding
For the group picture after the wedding ceremony: I am the only one sitting down!

And this last one, I am swimming in books: Happiness
